TJ's Cinnamon Rolls + Cream Cheese Frosting

Hello everyone!  I am back.  I was away for quite a while, and after I came back from my trip to Manila, I have been very busy with stuff...just stuff of all sorts.  But why bore you....today I am reviewing Trader Joe's Cinnamon Rolls using my own frosting.

This is the first time I am making these.  If you are like me, I find baking a challenge that's why I go to "off the shelf" ready to bake products.  Because I did not read the label carefully, I did not realize that this canister already has vanilla icing included.  So early this morning I thawed my ingredients for the cream cheese frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1/2 stick butter
1/2 package cream cheese
about 2 Tbsps. powdered sugar (or to taste)
about 1 Tbsp. Half & Half/cream/or milk (whatever you have in your fridge)

Procedure:

1.  Thaw the butter and cream cheese until soft.
2.  Cream the butter and sugar with a hand mixer.  Add in cream cheese.  Add Half & Half.
Beat on low until desired consistency.  If the frosting is too thick, add more Half & Half.

I used half a stick of butter and half a pack of cream cheese, powdered sugar and Half & Half.

Follow package instructions:  Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F, bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Nice and golden brown, the house smelled great while these were baking.  I can't wait to try them.

I topped it with my homemade cream cheese frosting and it was delish!  Let's have a bite, shall we?
Overall, I loved these rolls.  It's not Cinnabon, so don't expect it to be the soft, gooey/chewy kind.  It turned out to be slightly crisp on the outside and bread-y in the inside.  It's not sweet which is what I like.  I prefer desserts to be not too sweet.  I tried the vanilla icing that came with it and it was a tad sweet for my liking although it wasn't too bad, and it had a grainy texture to it, as if the sugar has not completely dissolved.  The frosting I made is smoother and creamier, so I recommend making your own.  Enjoy!!! -GG-
