Ham & Cheese Croissant-wich

I rented the movie Hugo the other night.  Since the movie was set in early 20th century Paris, I decided to make a croissant sandwich, as I would like to talk about the movie.

But first, the sandwich.  One of my favorite quick sandwiches is  ham and cheese croissant.  I just heat up the croissant without toasting it, add ham and cheese.  Here I used cheddar cheese, but another favorite of mine is Swiss cheese.

Now, the movie.  Although I will not give the movie away, I will be talking about my own interpretation of the movie.  So, if you prefer to see the movie first, you are welcome to skip the next paragraphs.

Hugo is a young boy who learned the inner workings of a clock, thus he knows how to assemble and repair clocks, or any other machine or toy that operates on gears.

Now, my take on the movie....

The clock and the gears that move a clock is a metaphor for life through time and how we are all connected to one another.  Each one of us play an important role, whether you are a big gear or a small gear, each gear is dependent on the other to get the clock moving.  In the big scheme of things we all have a purpose, big or small, one is just as important as the other.  Time or life will not go on as it should if not for every piece working together.  To the individual gear, or to the individual person, he/she may seem insignificant, but truth is, the whole clock will not continue as all the other gears, big or small, depend on that one particular seemingly insignificant gear, or person.  We all have a role to play, we all have a purpose, we all affect one another as we go through life.  We are all intertwined.  We just need to unlock our hearts (the shape of the key in the movie) to the endless possibilities that lie ahead, whether we are young or old, rich or poor, life goes on.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the movie.  It's a good movie for kids. -GG-
