Steamed Tofu with Ground Pork

While browsing other food blogs the other day, I chanced upon a great blog from Malaysia I happened to find a tofu dish in his blog, and being the typical me, I just read it quickly and did not write down his recipe. A day later I found myself cooking tofu inspired by deliciousasianfood.com. So here's my own take on it.

Ingredients:
1/2 pack soft tofu
3 Tbsp. ground pork
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
1 tsp. oyster sauce

Procedure:

1. Marinate ground pork in soysauce, oyster sauce and onions for about 15 minutes. 2. Cut up the tofu in cubes and arrange in ramekins, or any steamable container. 3. Place marinated pork on top of tofu as shown above.

4. Place ramekins in a pan with about 1/2 inch of water in the pan.
 5. Steam on medium heat for about 30 minutes or until pork is cooked.

6. Ah, steamy goodness fresh from the stovetop. The pork is now a lighter color and the ramekin is now filled with a delicious lightly salted sauce from the steam.

7. Serve with rice and veggies. Pictured here is sauteed choy sum. A divine light and healthy lunch combo. -GG-

Interesting to find a recipe combining tofu and ground pork together. I have seen quite a few recipes that use tofu as a substitute for meat. (How that works I'll never understand) I rarely use tofu in my recipes but I think I should cook this because now you have me intrigued...
